چکیده
The aim of this article is to investigate a possible way to improve ambient noise tomography by expanding the data base of useful cross-correlation measurements. We show that the curvelet transform makes it possible to compute synthetic noise correlations by simulating directly seismic ambient noise using the spectral element method. These synthetic correlations can in turn be used to identify surface waves and overtones even on correlations having a signal to noise ratio much lower than one. We hope that the possibility to compute SEM synthetic correlations and to extract more information from correlations will be useful to improve ambient noise tomography and

An Efficient Curvelet Framework for Denoising Images
Wiener filter suppresses noise efficiently. However, it makes the out image blurred. Curvelet preserves the edges of natural images perfectly, but, it produces visual distortion artifacts and fuzzy edges to the restored image, especially in homogeneous regions of images. In this paper, a new image denoising framework based on Curvelet transform and wiener filter is proposed, which can stop nois...

Obtaining seismic images with good quality in hardrock environments has been challenging. This condition applies to many mineral explorations using seismic methods including our study area where the data quality is strongly affected by soft, near-surface materials and a reflector with low contrast in rock physical properties. Until recently, no effective processing has been applied to the seism...

متن کاملApplication of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation
Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...
